*Edit 1/25* Check out my updated post with a link to a better spoofer.
I was playing around with Automator the other day and wanted to be able to spoof my Airport’s MAC address on the fly. It took me a little bit to figure out some variable trouble but I finally got it where I wanted. You can download the service and watch the video after the read more link.
You can download the service here. Simply place the file in ~/Library/Services and assign it a shortcut in the Keyboard Services Preference Pane.

Are there any errors when running it in Automator? Try running the commands manually which are in the Automator file. You could also be inputting an illegal MAC address that does not work.
Not working on Macbook Pro 10.5.8
The scrip run, and get say sucsessfull. But it don`t change the adress….
I don`t know what kind of mac you have, but I have read some places that you can not do this simple “command” typing on Macbook Pro…But I don`t know?
I put your code into an applescript and improved it a bit, it works for me (on Snow Leopard), see here.
I appreciate it. I couldn’t get it to work exactly the way I wanted and of course it worked fine on my Mac but not on others. I’ll post it soon.
